Sunny Day Real Estatewas a Seattle, Washington based emoband that were among some of the seminal groups to produce the more indie-rockinfluenced side of the genre. Formed in 1992, the band features Jeremy Enigkon guitar/vocals, on guitar/backing vocals, Nate Mendelon bass and on drums. They released their first, most popular album Diaryin 1994 on the Sub Pop label. In early 1995, the group split-up, with Mendel and Goldsmith going to join Foo Fighters. Later that year, Sub Pop released SDRE's second self titled album (sometimes known as LP2or The Pink Album), composed mainly of recordings which never made it to Diary.
